Karate, Kabaddi Success for Bahadurgarh College

🥋 Gold & Silver in Karate – Government Women’s College, Bahadurgarh

At the Inter-College Karate Competition held from 17–19 February at the Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) Sports Complex, students from Government Women’s College, Bahadurgarh put on a standout performance:

  • Kumud clinched a gold medal in her category.
  • Suhani won a silver medal in her respective weight class.
These medals reflect both athletes’ hard work, discipline, and regular training under the college sports programme. After the event, the college held a honour ceremony to recognise their achievement.

👉 The principal, Dr. Alka Gulati, praised the students, saying their success is a result of their dedication and discipline, and sports in-charge Ramendra Hudda highlighted how consistent practice helped them perform so well.

🏃‍♀️ Third Place in Kabaddi – Women’s Team

In addition to the karate results, the college’s women’s kabaddi team also performed admirably in the Inter-College Kabaddi Competition:

  • The team finished in third place, showcasing skill, teamwork, and competitive spirit in a tough field of competitors.

The kabaddi squad included key players such as Manisha, Sneha Yadav, Sonam Rani, Madhuri Pal, Kanika, Himanshi, and Akanksha, all of whom played integral roles in helping the team secure the podium finish.

🌟 Selections for Higher Competition

Two of the standout kabaddi players — Manisha and Sonam Rani — were selected for the All India Inter-University Camp, which means they’ve earned recognition beyond the college level and could soon compete in even larger national-level events.

👉 This selection is a big step: it not only boosts their personal athletic careers but also puts the college on the map in the broader university sports landscape.

🏅 What This Means for Local College Sports

  • 🎖️ Diverse talent: Winning medals in both karate and kabaddi highlights that colleges in Bahadurgarh are nurturing multi-sport athletes, not just excelling in one discipline.
  • 📈 Growing sports culture: Recognition at inter-college level boosts confidence and visibility for these athletes.
  • 📣 Role models for younger athletes: Their success motivates students in schools and other colleges around the region to take up competitive sports
