Gang-Rape at Dhaba Near Metro Station in Bahadurgarh

🔴 What Happened

  • A 42-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by a group of men at a deserted roadside dhaba in Bahadurgarh’s Jhajjar district early in the morning on January 12, 2026.
  • The incident took place around 100 metres from the Pandit Shree Ram Sharma Metro Station on the Delhi Metro Green Line, on the Delhi-Rohtak Road.

👣 Circumstances Leading Up to the Crime

  • The woman, who was from Uttar Pradesh, had arrived in Bahadurgarh with her uncle to look for a job. They got off a bus at the metro station around 2 a.m. and were waiting for her cousin to pick them up.
  • A group of five men were reportedly following their bus, and after they noticed this, the men separated her from her uncle and cousin.
  • Around 2:30 a.m., the men intimidated the family members and took her to a deserted dhaba, where they allegedly assaulted her sexually.

🚓 Police Investigation and Arrests

  • After the woman’s family contacted the police, an FIR was registered at the Bahadurgarh City Police Station.
  • Police teams used CCTV footage from the dhaba area and UPI digital payment trails to reconstruct the incident and identify the suspects.
  • Within about eight hours, four of the five accused—all reportedly from Bahadurgarh and originally from Bihar, staying in rented accommodation in Chhotu Ramnagar—were arrested. The fifth suspect remains on the run.
  • The suspects were taken to court and sent to police custody for further questioning while the investigation continues.

  • Jhajjar Police Commissioner Rajshree Singh praised the quick action by investigators and reiterated that the police are committed to strict enforcement against crimes targeting women and ensuring their safety.
