Old Mosque (inside the fort)

This mosque dates back to the Mughal period (17th century) when the fort was originally built.

• Built by Saif Khan (a Mughal noble/governor)

• Classic Mughal architecture

• Features:

  • Arched entrances

  • Small domes

  • Lime-plaster walls

  • Stone/brick construction

It’s not a large congregational mosque, more like a private or garrison mosque used by soldiers and fort residents.

Today:

• Mostly heritage ruins

• Not actively used for regular prayers

• Good for photography & history lovers
